Chelsea set to pip Man Utd to Pedro deal
Chelsea look set to clinch the signing of Barcelona’s Spain wide-man Pedro.
Manchester United were hoping to complete a deal for the 28-year-old but are no longer in the running to sign him.
The Blues, meanwhile, are keen to take Pedro to Stamford Bridge and he is expected to undergo a medical in London later today.
Chelsea’s gazumping of United is reminiscent of their signing of Willian two years ago, when the Brazilian was widely expected to complete a transfer to Tottenham before instead moving to west London.
Pedro has enjoyed a trophy-laden career at Barca, winning the La Liga title on five occasions and the Champions League three times.
He was also part of the Spain squads which won the 2010 World Cup and the European Championships two years later.
