Chelsea youngster Samuels-Smith signs new long-term deal

Ishe Samuels-Smith has signed a new long-term contract with Chelsea until 2031.

The defender, 18, signed with the Blues in the summer of 2023 and played for the Under-21s, who reached the semi-finals of the Premier League 2 play-offs last season.

He also helped the Under-18s win the Premier League South title and has featured in the FA Youth Cup.

Samuels-Smith was also named in the senior matchday squad on four occasions across the Premier League, FA Cup and League Cup during his debut season at Chelsea.

He has made 32 appearances across all competitions for the Under-21s this year, primarily as a left-back but also at centre-back, and has captained the team on eight occasions.

He was recently included among the first-team substitutes for February’s FA Cup tie against Brighton and was also on the bench for the Premier League win over Southampton a couple of weeks later.
