Leicester standing firm as Chelsea pursue Drinkwater deal
Chelsea and Leicester appear to be far apart in their valuations of Danny Drinkwater as Thursday’s transfer deadline approaches.
Drinkwater has told Leicester he wants to leave, but the Foxes are looking for more than £30m for him – considerably more than Chelsea seem to be willing to pay.
The 27-year-old midfielder was a key part of the Leicester’s Premier League-winning side in 2015-16, alongside N’Golo Kante, who has been a big hit since arriving at Chelsea.
The Blues are keen to reunite the pair and have had two offers for the England international rejected.
Drinkwater, who is under contract at Leicester until 2021, scored a spectacular goal at Stamford Bridge on the final day of their title-winning campaign.
