Chelsea complete signing of defender Koulibaly
Chelsea have completed the signing of Kalidou Koulibaly from Napoli.
The defender, who has signed a four-year contract, was targeted following the recent departures of Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger.
Senegal international Koulibaly, 31, has been linked with Chelsea during successive transfer windows.
“Chelsea came first to get me in 2016 but we didn’t make it,” he said.
“Now when they came to me I accepted it because they really wanted me to come to the Premier League to play for them.”
He is Chelsea’s second signing since the Todd Boehly-led takeover, after Raheem Sterling was signed from Manchester City.
Boehly said: “Kalidou Koulibaly is one of the world’s elite defenders and we are delighted to be welcoming him to Chelsea.”
