Kante to miss Villa game but could face Zenit
N’Golo Kante has been ruled out of Chelsea’s match against Aston Villa along with Christian Pulisic.
Kante aggravated an ankle problem during the recent 1-1 draw at Liverpool.
Blues boss Thomas Tuchel says the chances of the Frenchman returning for Tuesday’s Champions League game against Zenit St Petersburg look “pretty good”.
But the injury-plagued Pulisic appears to be facing another spell on the sidelines.
United States winger Pulisic limped off with an ankle injury during his country’s World Cup qualifier against Honduras this week and is still on crutches.
On a brighter note for Chelsea, Tuchel confirmed that Romelu Lukaku is fit and available despite the Belgium striker suggesting he had a thigh problem.
“Unfortunately we have two players out; N’Golo Kante and Christian Pulisic,” said Tuchel.
“We will try with N’Golo for Tuesday – this looks pretty good.
“For Christian, unfortunately he came yesterday on crutches and he has got an ankle injury.”
