Kante and Luiz are injury doubts

David Luiz and N’Golo Kante are injury doubts ahead of Chelsea’s game against Middlesbrough on Monday.

Goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois is expected to shake off an ankle problem in time to play, but Blues duo Luiz and Kante will be assessed to see if they are fit enough to be involved.

Luiz went off with a groin injury near the end of the recent win against Everton, while Kante has been nursing a thigh problem.

Boss Antonio Conte said: “Thibaut trained today and yesterday. I don’t see a problem about him.

“We are struggling with two situations, with David Luiz and N’Golo, but there are three more days before the Middlesbrough game. I have the time to make the best decision about them.”
