Chelsea have completed the £21m signing Spain forward Pedro from Barcelona.
The 28-year-old, who was wanted by Manchester United, is the Blues’ second signing in less than a week after the arrival of Ghana left-back Baba Rahman.
“I am very happy to be here. I am very excited to start my adventure at Chelsea and I am here to keep winning titles,” Pedro told Chelsea’s website.
“Thanks to the club and the supporters for giving me the opportunity to put the blue shirt on.”
Chelsea’s gazumping of United is reminiscent of their signing of Willian two years ago, when the Brazilian was widely expected to complete a transfer to Tottenham before instead moving to west London.
Pedro has enjoyed a trophy-laden career at Barca, winning the La Liga title on five occasions and the Champions League three times.
He was also part of the Spain squads which won the 2010 World Cup and the European Championships two years later.
