Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri has indicated that Tammy Abraham is likely to leave on loan before Friday’s 5pm deadline.
Aston Villa are keen to sign the striker, who has been told his first-team opportunities at Chelsea will remain limited if he stays at Stamford Bridge.
Speaking at a media conference on Friday afternoon, Sarri was asked if he expected players to leave in the coming hours.
He replied: “I don’t know. Maybe Tammy, but it’s up to him. I am not able to guarantee a spot for him at the moment.
“But if he wants to remain, I am very happy with him because he is very young and he can improve more. It’s up to him.”
Abraham, 20, spent last season on loan at Swansea in the Premier League.
He spent the previous campaign on loan at Bristol City and has faced a decision on whether to drop back down to the Championship to join Villa.
