Chelsea waiting for news on James injury
Chelsea are still waiting to learn the extent of Reece James’ injury.
James suffered a suspected hamstring tear during the first half of Wednesday’s 1-1 draw with Brighton.
The results of a scan will give a clearer idea of how long the England international is likely to be sidelined for.
James’ injury adds to Chelsea’s recent problems – he was playing as a makeshift left wing-back because Ben Chilwell is out after suffering cruciate ligament damage.
Chilwell has had surgery and is expected to miss the rest of the season.
Blues boss Thomas Tuchel said: “Chilly of course has had his surgery and has our best wishes to come back as soon as possible, but it seems like the season is over for him.
“With Reece it’s a hamstring injury and like always with muscle injuries the examination is a bit later because the images are better if you wait a bit.
“So the images will be a bit later. Then we will know more about it.”
Meanwhile, Tuchel says Chelsea “don’t like” Romelu Lukaku’s comments about being unhappy at the club – but believes they may have been taken out of context.
