Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho felt Demba Ba gave an effective display in the 3-1 victory over Norwich but said the striker wasted a great chance to all but seal the win early in the second half.
Ba was handed a starting place up front for the Blues, who were without the injured Fernando Torres.
“I think he has to score in the first minute of the second half,” Mourinho said.
“It is an easy goal. Put the ball in, 2-0, we go home and there is no heart attack.
“But after that if you don’t score you leave the door open for them and they score a goal and you are in trouble.”
However, Mourinho praised Ba’s all-round contribution.
“He did what I was expecting Demba to do in this kind of match,” said the Blues boss.
“It was very direct, a small pitch, very British. Demba is more physical and also for defensive set-pieces, he is tall to defend so he did his job.”
