Chelsea boss Conte considers strike pairing
Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has hinted Diego Costa and Michy Batshuayi could start alongside each other up front after their match-winning combination at Watford.
Batshuayi came on and scored the equaliser after Conte had switched to a 4-2-4 system, which saw the Belgian play up front with Costa, flanked by Eden Hazard and Victor Moses.
Costa then scored the winner after latching on to a pass from another substitute, Cesc Fabregas.
“Costa is for us an important player. During the game I can see both the positive things and negative things (said about Costa),” said Conte,
“But it’s not only about Diego. Batshuayi is a young player with a great potential. He can improve a lot.
“They can play together, not only during the game but also from the start.”
Conte has also confirmed he is keen to sign a defender before the transfer window closes.
