Chelsea boss Conte bemoans ‘bad decision’ after draw at Swansea
Chelsea boss Antonio Conte suggested that Swansea’s second goal in the 2-2 draw at the Liberty Stadium should not have stood.
The visitors felt Leroy Fer fouled Gary Cahill in the build up to the former QPR midfielder putting Swansea ahead in the second half.
“I think it was a bad decision by the referee,” Conte told Sky Sports.
Conte also felt that Diego Costa, who scored twice for the visitors, should have been given more protection by the officials.
But the Italian also admitted that his team paid the price for missing chances.
Conte said: “I can tell you that Diego Costa, from the first minute to 94 minutes, he took a lot of kicks.
“We lost two points. We were dominating the game and leading 1-0 and created a lot of chances to score the second and third goals.
“It’s a pity because when you have the possibility to kill the game, you must kill the game.”
Chelsea defender Cesar Azpilicueta, meanwhile, also conceded that the visitors should have taken maximum points.
Azpilicueta said: “It’s a huge disappointment because we had control of the game for most of the time. We came here to get three points and to go away with one is disappointing.
“The second goal was a clear foul on Gary Cahill. But the spirit of the team was very good.”
