Gary Cahill’s goal gave Chelsea a 1-0 win against Liverpool in a friendly at the Pasadena Rose Bowl in California, where Cesc Fabregas was sent off.
Cahill headed in Fabregas’ 10th-minute corner in Antonio Conte’s first match against English opposition as Blues boss.
But Chelsea ended the game with 10 men after Fabregas was red-carded for a reckless challenge on Ragnar Klavan with 18 minutes remaining.
Keeper Asmir Begovic produced a stunning save to push away a free-kick from Liverpool’s Philippe Coutinho.
And the lively Victor Moses went close to doubling Chelsea’s lead when he blasted just over following Willian’s corner.
