Conte ‘not worried’ after Terry picks up injury
Antonio Conte has played down the significance of an ankle injury John Terry suffered during Chelsea’s 2-2 draw at Swansea.
The Blues skipper left the Liberty Stadium on crutches after the match and his condition will be assessed in the next 24 hours.
With Chelsea having already made their three substitutions, they effectively ended the game with 10 men as Terry limped through the final minutes after picking up the injury.
“He is a warrior and I am not worried,” Conte declared.
“I don’t know the extent of the injury. Tomorrow we will see the situation with his ankle.”
But Terry looks likely to at least miss Friday’s game against Liverpool at Stamford Bridge.
Diego Costa’a late equaliser against the Swans extended Chelsea’s unbeaten record under Conte.
But the Italian felt Chelsea should have left Wales with maximum points.
“Chelsea deserved to win this game. We created a lot of chances to score many goals,” said Conte.
“We were dominating the game, leading 1-0, and in only two minutes we were losing. Then there was a great reaction from the team to score a second goal and create the situation to win.
“But it didn’t happen and it is a pity that we lost two points. Now we must look forward to prepare the next game.”
