Chelsea to assess Eto’o hamstring injury
Chelsea will assess an injury that forced Samuel Eto’o to go off after 10 minutes of the Blues’ thrashing of Arsenal.
Eto’o scored the opening goal in the 6-0 win but had to be replaced by Fernando Torres shortly afterwards.
Manager Jose Mourinho indicated that the problem is a hamstring strain, potentially making the player a doubt for next weekend’s derby at Crystal Palace and the forthcoming Champions League clash with Paris St-Germain.
Mourinho said: “Eto’o had to come off because he had a muscle injury.
“He thinks it is not a big one and has experience to know when it is not a tear, but a hamstring is still a hamstring.”
The veteran forward has been in good form – his strike against Arsenal was his third goal in as many matches.
