Cech’s finger injury a concern for Chelsea
Chelsea’s medical staff are to assess the extent of a finger injury suffered by Petr Cech.
The goalkeeper was forced to pull out of the Czech Republic squad for their match against Turkey and has returned to London.
His injury is potentially a major setback for Chelsea, whose patchy form under interim manager Rafael Benitez continued with a 3-2 defeat at Newcastle on Saturday.
And stand-in keeper Ross Turnbull looked unconvincing when he recently filled in while Cech was sidelined with a separate problem.
