Cahill welcomes timely return of Terry

Gary Cahill says Chelsea have been given a massive boost by captain John Terry’s return to action.

Terry, sidelined for 11 weeks after being stretchered off with a knee injury against Liverpool in November, returned to the starting line-up for Sunday’s 2-2 draw at Brentford in the FA Cup.

And Cahill said: “It’s fantastic to have your captain back and it is great to have more options.

“It’s been fantastic that he has been in and around the squad for couple of weeks and it was ideal  for him to get back to match fitness and get sharp.

“When you’ve been out for any length of time you just want to get 90 minutes under your belt and for him to come through with no more injury problems is great for him and great for us because he’s one of the leaders of the club.”
