Cahill left out of England squad and Sessegnon gets Under-21 call-up
Gary Cahill has been left out of the England squad.
The omission of Cahill, who recently lost his place in the Chelsea side, means there are no Blues players in Gareth Southgate’s squad for the games against the Netherlands and Italy.
There is a first call-up for Hillingdon-born defender Alfie Mawson, who has impressed for Swansea City this season.
Meanwhile, Fulham’s Ryan Sessegnon has been named in the England Under-21 squad for matches against Romania and Ukraine, as have Chelsea trio Tammy Abraham, Jake Clarke-Salter and Fikayo Tomori.
Chelsea’s Jamie Cumming has been included in England’s Under-19 squad for the first time.
Cumming, previously capped at Under-16 and Under-17 levels, and Brentford Ellery Balcombe are the two goalkeepers named in the Under-19 squad for Elite Round qualifiers against Hungary, Latvia and Macedonia.
The squad also includes Chelsea’s Mason Mount, Dujon Sterling, Trevoh Chalobah and Reece James.
England’s Under-18 squad includes Chelsea’s Callum Hudson-Odoi, Marc Guehi, George McEachran and Conor Gallagher as well as Fulham’s Steven Sessegnon.
The Under-18s will play matches against Qatar, Argentina and Belarus.
And Fulham’s Tayo Edun has been included in the England Under-20 squad for games against Poland and Portugal.
