Breakthrough for Chelsea in Oscar talks

Chelsea appear to be close to a deal to sign highly-rated Brazilian midfielder Oscar from Internacional.

They are set to pay around £25m for the 20-year-old, who is regarded as one of the world’s top prospects.

Tottenham are among several other clubs to have shown an interest in him, while Manchester City were linked with Oscar last season.

It has been claimed on a number of occasions that Chelsea had reached an agreement to sign him, but this time it seems a deal has been put in place.

Oscar is expected to arrive in England this week with the Brazilian Olympic team.
