Boss wants ‘perfect game’ from Chelsea

Chelsea boss Roberto Di Matteo has called on his players to produce ‘a perfect game’ against Shakhtar Donetsk.

The Blues will be looking to avenge their recent defeat in Ukraine and with the Stamford Bridge crowd behind them, Di Matteo feels they are more than capable of getting the victory they need.

And he believes Chelsea’s home form is crucial to their chances of progressing to the Champions League knockout stage.

“We need to be at our best. We need a perfect game. Every player on the pitch needs to perform at the highest of their ability,” said Di Matteo.

“At home we’re a very strong team and will need to show it, put them under pressure and score the goals we need.

“We certainly have to win our home games. I still believe that and hopefully we can do that.

“If we win it’s in our hands and that’s what we want. It’s important for the club to have a successful campaign and that means we need to win this game.

“We’ve had must-win games and this is another one. But we are strong at home. We found that over many years and we will be fired up to win it.”
