Delighted Chelsea boss Roberto Di Matteo said his players fully deserved their derby victory at Tottenham.
The Blues recovered from a bad start to the second half and came from behind to beat their London rivals 4-2, with the superb Juan Mata scoring twice.
It gave Chelsea their first league win at White Hart Lane since 2005 and maintained their lead at the top of the Premier League.
“If you look at the game it was probably only 10 or 12 minutes in the second half where they got back into it,” said Di Matteo.
“We lost control a bit, but for the rest of the game we took the initiative, created a lot of chances and deservedly won the game.
“It was a test of our character coming here with a team in form after four consecutive wins.
“The answers we gave on the pitch were perfect today. We have the same attitude away from home as at home and try to impose ourselves on the opposition.”
