Torres facing three more weeks out
Chelsea expect Fernando Torres to be sidelined until the middle of next month with the knee injury he suffered against Manchester United.
The striker was hurt soon after coming on as a substitute during Sunday’s 3-1 win and tests have since confirmed he sustained lateral ligament damage.
Boss Jose Mourinho explained: “It’s not a surgery situation, thankfully, but also it’s not just a little strain.
“It’s a lateral ligament injury and it will take this week, and I would say another three weeks.”
Demba Ba is expected to be given a starting place for this weekend’s FA Cup game against Stoke City.
