Blues sign Croatian midfield starlet Pasalic

Chelsea have signed midfielder Mario Pasalic from Hajduk Split.

The 19-year-old, who was born in Germany, has represented Croatia at Under-21 level and was named in the country’s 30-man provisional squad ahead of the World Cup.

He scored 11 goals in 36 appearances for Hajduk Split last season.

Pasalic told the Blues’ website: “My favourite player is Frank Lampard, so I am very happy to be a Chelsea player.’”
