Blues five clear after thrashing Swansea
Swansea City 0 Chelsea 5
Diego Costa and Oscar both scored twice as Chelsea destroyed Swansea at the Liberty Stadium.
Andre Schurrle also found the net for the Blues, whose victory moved them five points clear of Manchester City at the top of the Premier League.
Chelsea went ahead after only 50 seconds when Oscar fired home from near the edge of the penalty area after pouncing on Gylfi Sigurdsson’s wayward pass.
Sigurdsson hit the post before Costa made it 2-0, rounding off a lovely team move by finishing emphatically after collecting Cesc Fabregas’ pass.
Another misplaced Swansea pass, this time by Federico Fernandez, led to Costa making it 3-0.
Chelsea were four up by half-time after Oscar found space in the box and smashed into the top corner of the net – and they almost made it 5-0 when Willian’s shot hit the bar.
The second half was a low-key affair, with Chelsea in complete control.
Oscar went close to completing a hat-trick before Branislav Ivanovic pulled the ball back for Schurrle to make it five.
