Chelsea’s youngsters continued their impressive recent run with a 3-2 victory at Middlesbrough in the Under-21 Premier League.
Billy Clifford, Lewis Baker and Alex Davey put Chelsea firmly in command at the Riverside Stadium before Boro pulled two goals back.
Clifford (pictured above) opened the scoring with a superb free-kick after Islam Feruz and Lucas Piazon had both gone close for the Blues early on.
Piazon, back after missing last week’s win over Fulham, then set up Baker, whose close-range finish sent the visitors in at the break 2-0 up.
Davey fired home the third before the home side rallied with goals from Ryan Brobbel and Christian Burgess.
Dermot Drummy’s team are now unbeaten in their last five matches.
