Interim manager Rafael Benitez has distanced himself from reports linking Chelsea with a January bid for highly-rated Southampton left-back Luke Shaw.
The teenager has been touted as a potential long-term replacement for Ashley Cole and the Blues expressed an interest in him during the previous transfer window.
Asked about the club’s apparent pursuit of Shaw and Brazilian striker Taison, Benitez said he had not yet had a chance to consider transfer options following his recent arrival at Stamford Bridge.
“It’s not the time for me, because I’m quite busy with the team now,” he said.
“We have a game [against West Ham] and then we are going to Japan [for the World Club Cup]. Give me a couple of games and we will talk about any player.”
