Benitez still believes he can win fans over
Rafael Benitez still believes he can win Chelsea fans over if the team return to winning ways.
The interim manager was barracked again as the Blues surrendered a two-goal lead at home to Southampton this week.
It followed the recent shock wins at Stamford Bridge for Swansea and bottom-of-the-table QPR.
But Benitez – unpopular among the Chelsea faithful from his time as Liverpool boss – feels a victory against Arsenal this weekend could lead to a sea change.
He explained: “I always say a win would help. As I said before, we have to win together and I’m sure that if we win the fans will be happy.
“The main thing is that we have to do our best. In the beginning when we scored and when we won the fans enjoyed it, so we have to do our job and they will support the team.
“My message is the same: it’s important we win together and hopefully we can do so against Arsenal.”
