Rafael Benitez said he took Eden Hazard off during Chelsea’s draw against Tottenham because the Belgian suffered a slight injury.
Hazard was replaced by Victor Moses with 17 minutes remaining at Stamford Bridge after picking up a knock.
But the problem does not appear to be serious and interim Blues boss Benitez expects Hazard to be available for Saturday’s game at Aston Villa.
Benitez also brought the outstanding Oscar off in the closing stages – a substitution that did not go down well with the home fans.
But the Spaniard explained: “I needed to make substitutions in the wide areas because we were a little tired in those positions and Spurs are fast there.”

Benitez is a fat swan fool who can easily kill someone who is suffering from heart pressure, please can someone provide me with a more suitable title for the so call football manager who have the likes of { JT, LAMPARD, BA, AKE, } BUT MADE UP TO BRING ON USELESS MOSES AND LIABILITY BENAYOUN BECAUSE MY TITLE IS NOT ENOUGH FOR HIM....
simple substitution, take of torres bring in Ba to cause problems for the opponents defence, remove oscar bring in lampard to hold the midfield. very simple
Benitez is never a bad coach. He is trying his best. If chelsea had played lesser games perhaps there wont be need for substituting some key players but the have to be substituted as a result of fatigue. If chelsea have won obviously there would be no reason to argue. Mourinho or any other coach would make a different error other than benitezs otherwise chelsea would be winning all the silverware in europe and england. So let benitez finish his job then we know the next step. Stop criticizing this man coz to me he is not bad coach. He has pushed us thus far too.
Benitez is simply undermiming Chelsea's qualification. Why is it that he doesn't make such mistakes against Sir Alex Ferguson's Man U?he is killjoy
Benithez day were numbers bcos he is useless coach i hav ever seen chelsea players win some game by demself not useless coach work bcos d way he made him sub is verybad inmagin terry lampard ba on bench dat him useless benayun dey play in big game lik dos liverpool n tottenham i no only useless club will sign dat benitez both benayun.benitez shameless coach
Benitez, is a dream killer who does not want chelsea 2 excel. He does not know how 2 subtitute and drop pressure from a team. Mr interim leave chelseafc. Dont kill our team
benitez is not coach, wat a change
Benitez asked for our respect as fans, therefore I'm also asking all the bloggers to give him some respect he deserves as we post our comments. Not only as a manager but as an elderly man. Why should we subject him to such vulgar language? Please spare him, only two games are remaining for him to go!
It was really pain full to see our two super stars hazard and oscar made way 4 these useless players moses and benayoun and we saw the result of substition them. but i still support benitez than mourinho coz he will undermine our new style of play
benitez isnt a tactitian,he doesnt think before substituting players and all he thinjs about is squad rotation.even hazard looked surprised at his substitution which doesnt correspond with his excuse.hazard was having a good match and he removed him from the game letting the overlapping walker play his game.benyoun wasnt the right man to come into the frame having removed oscar who was also playing well, everybody knows benayoun isnt the kin dof player he was at liverpool,he's not a chelsea type of player so why put him in a game with so much pace;why not deploy torres to the wing and bringing on ba?why removing oscar and putting the slower moses with the excuse of wanting to keep up with the pace of the game?why not marin instead of benayoun or moses?.....benitez needs to answer this questions an di really think this should be fowarded if it's possible.....#irepchelseafc
