Chelsea striker Patrick Bamford has completed a season-long loan move to Middlesbrough.
Bamford, 20, impressed for Chelsea during pre-season but the club are keen for him to pick up more first-team experience in the Championship.
He had a successful loan stint with Derby County last season, scoring eight goals in 14 starts, and the Rams and several other clubs were keen to sign the England Under-21 international.
But Boro boss Aitor Karanka, who was assistant to Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho at Real Madrid, wanted Bamford and also recently secured a loan deal for the Blues’ Nigeria international defender Kenneth Omeruo.
Meanwhile, Chelsea have given midfielder Lewis Baker, 19, a new four-year contract.
