Bamford backed to shine at Norwich by Chelsea team-mate Swift
Patrick Bamford has been backed to score goals in the Premier League for Norwich by Chelsea team-mate John Swift.
Bamford has joined the Canaries on loan until the end of the season, having struggled to break into the Crystal Palace team during a loan spell in the first half of the campaign.
The 22-year-old scored regularly in loan spells at Middlesbrough, Derby and MK Dons, and fellow Blues youngster Swift, currently on loan at Brentford, believes Bamford will show Norwich fans what he is capable of.
Swift said: “He did well in League One and the Championship, then going into a Premier League club he didn’t really get the chance.
“I think if he got a lot more opportunities then he could have done what he did in the Championship.
“With Pat, it was more about opportunity, not about ability – he’s definitely got that, he’s proven it. I think if he gets the opportunity he’ll take it.”
