Chelsea defender trains despite knock
Chelsea’s Cesar Azpilicueta was able to train on Thursday despite picking up a knock during this week’s Capital One Cup defeat against Sunderland.
Azpilicueta had to go off midway through the second half at the Stadium of Light, where he was playing at right-back in place of the suspended Branislav Ivanovic.
But he appears to have made a good recovery and his condition is due to be assessed on Friday.
The Blues are next in action on Monday night, when they face Premier League leaders Arsenal.
A win at the Emirates Stadium would take them above the Gunners to the top of the table.
