Chelsea have again been told that AC Milan defender Alessio Romagnoli will not be sold.
The Italian club announced this week that they had rejected “significant” offer from Chelsea for the 21-year-old and that Romagnoli would not be leaving.
There has since been speculation that the Blues might table an improved bid in an attempt to agree a deal ahead of Wednesday’s transfer deadline.
However, speaking on Italian television, AC Milan chief executive Adriano Galliani reiterated that his club have no intention of selling him, describing Romagnoli as “untransferable.”
Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is keen to sign at least one centre-back before next week’s deadline.
Conte has, however, admitted that the club might not be able to land their transfer targets.
