AC Milan say they have rejected a “significant” offer from Chelsea for Alessio Romagnoli and that he is not for sale.
Italian media reports have suggested that the Blues are willing to pay £35m in order to sign the highly-rated central defender.
But Milan have insisted that Romagnoli, 21, will not be sold.
Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is keen to sign at least one centre-back before next week’s transfer deadline.
