Three Chelsea Ladies stars given call-ups
Chelsea Ladies’ Hannah Blundell, Laura Coombs and Drew Spence (pictured) have earned their first-ever call-ups to the England squad.
The uncapped trio are among eight Blues players selected for the international friendly tournament in China which begins next week.
Gilly Flaherty, Claire Rafferty, Eni Aluko, Gemma Davison and Fran Kirby are also in the 21-strong travelling party. Defender Blundell, 21, was shortlisted for the PFA Women’s Young Player of the Year earlier this year, while midfielder Coombs, 24, has been an integral part of Chelsea’s WSL-winning squad this season. Former Fulham midfielder Spence (pictured) has represented England at Under-19 and Under-17 levels and now has her first senior call-up. England will face hosts China and Australia in the tournament.
So happy to get my first senior call up to the @england squad ⚽️😁
