Fran Kirby scored again as Chelsea Ladies won on their Champions League debut, beating Glasgow City 1-0 in the first leg of their round-of-32 tie.
The domestic Double winners, fresh from clinching the league title at the weekend, dominated much of the first half but struggled to create clear-cut chances before scoring with their first shot on target five minutes before the interval.
Prolific striker Kirby turned away from defender Cheryl McCulloch before thumping a shot into the net via the underside of the bar.
Ji So-Yun went close to doubling the home side’s lead when she fired over after being found by Gemma Davison’s cross.
Glasgow keeper Lee Alexander produced a number of saves, including a late stop to deny substitute Ana Borges.
