Flaherty signs new Chelsea Ladies deal

Chelsea Ladies defender Gilly Flaherty has signed a new two-year deal.

Flaherty, 25, was signed from Arsenal in 2014 and won her first England cap last season.

“Signing for this club was the best decision I ever made and extending my contract is something I really wanted to do,” she told Chelsea’s website.

Manager Emma Hayes said: “I’ve known Gilly since she was 15 and, in my opinion, she’s been the best English defender in the country since then.”
