Claire Rafferty scored twice as Chelsea Ladies resumed their season with a thumping 5-0 win at Sunderland.
There were also goals for Gemma Davison, Millie Bright and Ji So-Yun in a one-sided game.
Rafferty volleyed home at the far post before doubling the lead to put Emma Hayes’ team in control.
Davison’s cool finish and Bright’s long-range strike made it four before Ji completed the scoring.
The victory moved defending champions Chelsea to within two points of Women’s Super League leaders Manchester City.
