Kirby and Flaherty pull out of England squad
Chelsea Ladies duo Fran Kirby and Gilly Flaherty have withdrawn from the England squad with leg injuries.
Striker Kirby and defender Flaherty were among a 23-strong squad to face Serbia in a Euro 2017 qualifying double-header.
Neither are to be replaced by England boss Mark Sampson and will have a few weeks to recover before Chelsea’s next Women’s Super League game, which is not until 29 June.
Blues team-mates Gemma Davison and Karen Carney are both still available for the Serbia games.
The first match will be played at Adams Park, Wycombe, on Saturday, with the reverse fixture in Stara Pazova on Tuesday.
Thank you for all the messages! Time to get fixed up and get back, plenty of rehab and will be back in no time ☺️⚽️🔵
