Chelsea Ladies midfielder Coombs joins Liverpool

Laura Coombs has joined Liverpool Ladies from Chelsea Ladies on a season-long loan.

The England international midfielder, 24, was part of the Blues squad which won the league and cup double last season.

“This is a fantastic move for me and I am really looking forward to the start of the season,” she said.

“I had a great year with Chelsea Ladies last season, winning the Double, but this is a brilliant move for me and hopefully I can help Liverpool Ladies to improve on last season.”

Coombs moves to Merseyside following Chelsea’s signing of another England midfielder, Karen Carney, from Birmingham City Ladies.
