Boss Hayes hails Chelsea Ladies star
Ji So-Yun’s creativity and ability to excite supporters were the reasons she won the PFA Women’s Player of the Year award, says Chelsea Ladies manager Emma Hayes.
The South Korea international midfielder was a key figure in the side that finished as Women’s Super League runners-up last season.
And the 24-year-old has started impressively this season, helping Chelsea to four straight league wins and six from six in all competitions.
“She has real creativity and unpredictability and that sets her apart,” Hayes told West London Sport.
“She has that extra special quality in the final third and she is fully deserving of a great award.
“She was pretty much unknown when she came to England but gets the fans excited and has developed a strong following.”
Katie Chapman’s first-half strike earned a 1-0 away win over Birmingham City Ladies on Sunday, with the next game on Thursday against Arsenal Ladies.
Chelsea Ladies versus Arsenal in the Womens’s Super League takes place on Thursday, 30 April, at Wheatsheaf Park, Staines Town FC. Kick-off is at 7.30pm and tickets are currently available priced at £5 for adults and £3 for juniors/seniors.
