Cuthbert’s late winner takes Chelsea closer to WSL title

Erin Cuthbert’s injury-time goal gave Chelsea a 2-1 victory at Manchester City – another step towards a sixth consecutive Women’s Super League title.

The league leaders fell behind to Kerolin’s goal and had a lucky escape when Jess Park had a goal controversially disallowed.

Aggie Beever-Jones equalised early in the second half and Cuthbert’s diving header dramatically clinched the points.

It was the third match between the two rivals in eight days – City beat Chelsea in midweek in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie.

That ended their 31-match unbeaten run in all competitions, but they remain unbeaten in the league.
