Chelsea Ladies suffered a heavy defeat in their first-ever match at Stamford Bridge, losing 3-0 to Wolfsburg in their Champions League clash.
Zsanett Jakabfi scored a hat-trick for the visitors, leaving Emma Hayes’ side facing an enormous task in next week’s second leg in Germany.
Jakabfi put Wolfsburg ahead after pouncing on a mix-up between Claire Rafferty and keeper Hedvig Lindahl.
Chelsea’s Ana Borges then went off injured and worse followed for the hosts when Jakabfi headed home to make it 2-0 shortly before half-time.
Jakabfi struck again in the second half, this after being set up by Caroline Graham Hansen, who would have made it four but for a fine save from Lindahl.
