West Ham look set to table a bid for Brentford star Said Benrahma.
The Hammers identified Benrahma and Ebere Eze as key summer targets but missed out on Eze, who joined Crystal Palace from QPR.
David Moyes has been told he needs to sell before he can spend in the transfer market.
And he is now on course to offload Grady Diangana, with a deal having been agreed with West Brom for the forward.
That will pave the way for West Ham boss Moyes to add to his squad and he is expected to make a move for Benrahma, who has attracted interest from a number of Premier League clubs.
Those clubs include Aston Villa, who have long been keen on the Algerian and his Brentford team-mate Ollie Watkins.
Brentford would want a sizeable fee for Benrahma, who has been a revelation since arriving in west London from Nice two years ago.
West London Sport revealed last month that the Bees have identified Nuremburg's Robin Hack as their first-choice replacement if Benrahma leaves.
