Nottingham Forest 2 Brentford 3
Lasse Vibe’s double earned Brentford an impressive away victory as they resisted a late Nottingham Forest fightback.
Vibe hammered home his first effort at the near post and made it 2-0 with a cheeky chipped finish.
Jota crashed in a third and the Bees held on despite late goals from substitutes Ben Brereton and Zach Clough.
Brentford looked well set for a third consecutive league win at the City Ground even before Vibe’s opener, Forest keeper Jordan Smith making a fine save to keep out the Danish striker’s early effort.
Smith had no chance with the first goal and was also powerless to prevent the Bees man making it 2-0 with a clever first-time flick with the outside of his right foot after the break.
Jota cut inside to drill in the third and wrap up the points even though teenage forward Brereton scored on the follow-up and Clough’s close-range injury-time effort caused some late panic.
Brentford: Bentley; Colin, Dean, Egan, Henry, Yennaris (Cole 87), Woods, Jota (Shaibu 76), Sawyers, Canos, Vibe.
Subs not used: Bonham, Kerschbaumer, Clarke, Barbet.
