Lokomotive Leipzig 1 Brentford 2
New signing Farid El Alagui scored twice for Brentford, who rounded off their pre-season trip to Germany with a comfortable win.
The Moroccan striker put them ahead in the 23rd minute after being put through by Sam Saunders.
Lokomotive levelled through Rico Engler’s header two minutes later, but Brentford led at half-time after their summer acquisition struck again.
Saunders’ corner was helped on by Clayton Donaldson and El Alagui applied the finish.
Brentford controlled most of the game and had chances to go further ahead in the second half.
The impressive Saunders fired over and then delivered a cross for Donaldson, who was unable to hit the target.
Leon Legge also went close for Uwe Rosler’s side before Harry Forrester missed their best chance of the half when he fired wide after being set up by Shaleum Logan.
