Brentford manager Uwe Roser praised his players for responding to their harrowing defeat last weekend to secure a 1-1 draw in the play-off clash at Swindon.
Seven days after Marcello Trotta’s last-gasp penalty miss cost the Bees automatic promotion to the Championship, skipper Kevin O’Connor scored with an injury-time spot-kick.
It was a huge boost for Rosler’s side ahead of Monday’s second leg at Griffin Park.
And Rosler declared: “To get a draw after the circumstances of last weekend was a very good result.
“The tie is wide open and I said before the game that we must make sure it was.”
And the German reserved special praise for club stalwart O’Connor, whose goal could prove to be crucial.
“Kevin is excellent and he used all his experience and skill to convert that penalty. I’m very happy for him,” said Rosler.
“It was a difficult situation for him as he has not been playing many matches, but in all the games he looks very solid and does a great job.”
