Manager Uwe Rosler hailed ‘one of the best wins’ of his reign after Brentford beat promotion rivals Peterborough to go third in League One.
Striker Clayton Donaldson grabbed a dramatic late winner in a 3-2 victory at Griffin Park.
The Bees battled back from 2-1 down to extend their unbeaten run to seven matches.
“I’ve had some very good wins during my time at this club and this is one of the best ones,” said Rosler.
“The way we turned it around was an enormous effort. It was a fantastic finale, you can’t get any better in terms of drama and excitement. It was just brilliant.
“The three substitutions gave us a massive lift and then we needed a bit of extra quality and our talisman Clayton delivered.
“Sometimes he has gone missing for periods in games but today he was very effective throughout the 90 minutes. He was on it from the first minute today and I’m not surprised he scored the winner.”
Brentford enjoyed five straight wins prior to Saturday’s draw at high-flying Wolves – another impressive result in a great spell for last season’s beaten play-off finalists.
And Rosler declared: “In terms of tempo, the last two matches have been absolutely at Championship level, and we have shown we can compete again with the two favourites for promotion.
“We showed today we have a fantastic bench and that is the difference between a team who is mid-table and one that is fighting for promotion.”
