Brentford manager Uwe Rosler hailed youngsters Jake Reeves and Stuart Dallas after the 1-0 win over Scunthorpe.
Academy product Reeves made his first league start of the season and Dallas, who joined from Irish side Crusaders in the summer, impressed as a second-half substitute.
Rosler said: “That was probably the most offensive midfield I have played this season, with Reeves in the middle.
“But he was very good. We wanted to get Marcello Trotta and Bradley Wright-Phillips on the ball in and around the penalty area and I think he did that very well.
“Jake switched play very well too and was the sort of quality we needed today.
We had two very good youngsters playing – Stuart Dallas was brilliant,” Rosler added.
“He has been patient and professional since he came here and hasn’t moaned once and trained hard.
“When he came on he changed the game for us and he will get more chances.”
