Uwe Rosler believes Clinton Morrison’s arrival on loan from Sheffield Wednesday was a turning point in Brentford’s fortunes.
Rosler’s side had lost three games in a row, were reeling from top scorer Gary Alexander’s move to Crawley Town, and appeared to be out of the running for a top-six finish.
But Republic of Ireland international Morrison’s move from Hillsborough was a major boost for the team and they have won their last four matches, moving to within five points of the play-off places.
Bees boss Rosler explained: “Confidence was low, morale was a little bit low. Then we signed Clinton – I felt that was a massive signing.
“The players got their belief back. We replaced Gary Alexander with not only a [big] name but a player who can score goals.
“Then we started winning against Rochdale and that was very important. I feel there’s much more belief in the camp now.”
Morrison, 32, recently told West London Sport that Wednesday, who are chasing a return to the Championship, allowed him to move to Griffin Park because they did not regard Brentford as a promotion rival.
