Boss demands response after Bees loss
Brentford boss Uwe Rosler has demanded his side be braver, stronger and more decisive after a below-par showing in their home defeat against Rotherham.
The visitors took the points after the Bees defence failed to cut out a free-kick and Mark Bradley headed home the only goal of the match.
Despite enjoying plenty of possession in the second half, Brentford appeared short of ideas and Rosler admitted they were low on confidence.
He said: “Too many players didn’t want the ball. In the second half we changed the shape and we got on the ball more but with no real outcome.
“We must have 11 players out there who are not afraid to get on the ball and in home games we’re not having enough of that. Certain players in key positions underperformed.
“We need to be a bit braver on the ball, a bit stronger in the duels and more decisive – everything is too hesitant and slow.
“When you go 1-0 down to Rotherham, with the way they play, it’s always difficult, because they have a very strong back four who work very hard off the ball.”
The German was also frustrated with the ease at which the Millers scored their winning goal.
He said: “We have to stop making mistakes like we do week in, week out.
“I was happy with the clean sheet last week, but the week before we made a massive mistake that cost us the first goal and today we made a stupid mistake that cost us again.”
